Our Objectives

 

By joining the Worcester Tourism Association you can play an active part in the ongoing development and promotion of tourism in your city.

Our aims are :-

  • To increase 'visitor spend' in Worcester and to encourage further development and enhancement of Worcester's visitor attractions and amenities
  • To ensure that Worcester's potential as a tourist destination is maximised and to increase overnight and day visitors within manageable limits

Lobbying :

  • The Association offers an opportunity for you to have your say on development and tourism issues and to play an active role in supporting initiatives that benefit the improvement and development to tourism in Worcester.

Benfits to you :

  • Free leaflet inclusion in the ' Bedroom Browser ' distributed by the Worcester Tourism Association to 700 bedsides in hotels and guest houses.
  • Promotional opportunities on the official Worcester Tourism website and use of the distictive W.T.A. logo.
  • Regular Newsletters and Members Events.

Funding :

  • The Association has a small grant giving programme which supports initiatives that promote Worcester and attract visitors to the City.

Wherever possible to, we aim to:

  • Assist in the promotion of tourism, both physical and economic in and around the City of Worcester.
  • Act as a forum for the exchange of ideas, information and the resolution of problems related to tourism.
  • Foster co-operation between individuals, organisations and authorities involved with tourism.
  • Encourage the development of existing and the creation of new tourism attractions in the area.
  • Assist in the marketing strategy for tourism activities, and to encourage joint promotional activities.
  • Act as a body to influence local authorities and developers within tourism.
  • Encourage maintenance and improvement in standards of service offered to the visiting public.
  • Help preserve and enhance the quality of the local environment with due regard to the resident population.
  • Assist in the public understanding and appreciation of the benefits of tourism to the local community.
  • Encourage our membership a favourable image of the area as a visitor centre of excellence.
  • Co-operate with research activities and to undertake studies directly, when appropriate.
  • Do all other things necessary to achieve the foregoing objectives.
